The police of San Franciscoin California (United States), found a stolen dog in just over 2 hours and returned it safely to its owner, reported CBS News on Thursday September 24. Neighborhood surveillance cameras largely contributed to this happy outcome by filming the suspects.
On Wednesday, September 23, at 5:45 p.m., a woman came to pick up her child from the daycare near Marina Districtin the north of the city. She was accompanied by her dog, a mini Labradoodle namedEaston. Unable to enter with the latter, she had attached him to the stroller, left in front of the establishment.

Suspecting a theft, she immediately informed the local police (San Francisco Police Department) who quickly launched the search.
Officers combed the area and reviewed images recorded by surveillance cameras from surrounding businesses. Some of them actually showed 2 individuals pushing a sort of cart on which was Easton.

A wanted notice was issued, including photos of the dog and the suspects. These were finally located 3 kilometers further, in the district of Tenderfar. Around 8 p.m., they were arrested by the police as they were about to leave a building with the quadruped.
Unharmed, Easton was handed over to his relieved and grateful mistress at the police station Tenderfar.
