Abandoned in a snowy landfill, these 4 freezing puppies tried to survive thanks to pieces of cardboard

Young puppies are particularly vulnerable, especially when left to their own devices. Cold, malnutrition, as well as infections and parasites represent immediate, sometimes fatal, dangers for them. Their fragile little organism then needs rapid care to have a chance of surviving and developing properly. Without the intervention of a good Samaritan, the 4 puppies in question here would probably not have had this chance.

Cardboards for only protection

In a snowy landfill La LocheAt Canada4 little cross puppies Husky tried to survive as best they could. Without protection or human presence, they huddled together to keep warm, sheltering themselves with pieces of cardboard found on site.

They were only waiting for one thing: for help to finally arrive. When a passerby noticed them, he immediately alerted the SPCA local, who took matters into their own hands.

The rescuers then intervened without delay to take the little balls of fur out of this dangerous cold and take them to the shelter, where, finally safe, they were able to relax and snuggle under soft blankets.

Intensive care to give them a new chance

Little by little, they were fed small, regular meals to reaccustom their bodies to a healthy diet, while a veterinarian estimated the young age of these siblings (3 little females and one male) at around 4 weeks.

Fragile and infested with lice, the puppies also needed extensive care: baths, brushing and treatments to relieve their irritated skin and itching.

Still at the shelter today, they continue to receive appropriate care and their condition is improving every day. Soon, they will be ready to meet loving families, with the promise of a future where they will never be cold or hungry again.
