Animal protection festival at the Süderstraße animal shelter – HundeNachrichten

Hamburg. The Hamburg animal protection association from 1841 (HTV) invites you to the animal protection festival on Sunday, June 28th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Süderstraße animal shelter. Guests young and old are again invited to take a look behind the scenes of the animal shelter. Numerous animal protection organizations will present themselves on the animal shelter grounds. Guests can look forward to program items such as a raffle, flea market, animal performances, music, auction, children's fun, dog parcours and delicious vegan food.

During the popular animal shelter tours, guests get an insight into the diverse and exciting animal protection work under the curious eyes of hundreds of animal shelter protégés.

For the first time, a tattoo artist will be at the start: guests can have themselves embellished with small motifs. Also new is a “portrait machine” where people have the opportunity to have themselves drawn. Fans of junk can find what they are looking for at the traditional flea market. The tombola once again offers fantastic prizes, such as tickets for Hamburg institutions and events as well as cinema and theater tickets and of course many non-cash prizes. The youngest guests can enjoy children's fun with a wheel of fortune, face painting, painting and craft activities and, for example, making “slime”.

Dogs that can cope with the hustle and bustle of the festival are also very welcome: four-legged guests can show off their talent on a course during dog fun.

There is also piano music and a very special campaign on the program: HTV animal protection work will benefit from the proceeds of an auction in which colorful pictures that some animal shelter protégés have “painted” themselves will be sold. At the final stage discussion, the chairwoman of the HTV, Janet Bernhardt, will talk to influencer Fiona Bliedtner about the topic “Tormental breeding on the internet: When likes become more important than animal welfare”. In addition, at the HTV animal welfare advice stand, guests can “feel” what torture dogs have to endure on a daily basis.

Guests can look forward to vegan delicacies at the food truck from Marla and Mathilda's Genusswerkstatt and the HTV fries team. The BahnhofsCaFee Buchholz, the vegan café iNNERLUCK and the animal shelter's own SpatzenCafé deliver cake, ice cream and hot and cold drinks.
