Cinema: Dog Guilty – Dog News

Avril is a passionate lawyer who keeps landing hopeless cases. With her boss already threatening to quit, she vows to win her next case. But then the desperate Dariuch stands in her office with his loyal dog Cosmos. The four-legged friend has bitten three people and is to be euthanized. The chances of acquittal are nil, but one look into Cosmos' sad eyes makes Avril forget her good intentions. They will save their shaggy clients by any means necessary and throw themselves into the work. The case quickly spreads widely. When dog psychologists, lawyers, animal rights activists and politicians as well as the press get involved, the process threatens to get completely out of hand.

Guilty as a dogLætitia Dosch's brilliant feature film debut is an emotional rollercoaster ride full of absurdly funny and deeply moving moments. In the role of her original and profound comedy, she delights herself alongside a consistently brilliant cast – especially the charismatic Kodi as the four-legged defendant. At the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where the film celebrated its world premiere, it was awarded the “Palm Dog Award”.
