After a long stay in prison, Lang returns to his hometown on the edge of the Gobi Desert, but nothing is as it once was. The city is changing, buildings stand empty and crumbling while stray dogs roam the deserted streets. A few weeks before the Beijing Olympics, authorities decide to take action against the growing number of homeless animals, especially the elusive “black dog” that is causing fear among residents. Lang, desperate for a new beginning, becomes part of a team of dog catchers and unexpectedly develops a deep bond with the animal, who is just as lonely and lost as he is. Together they embark on a journey that not only affects Lang's relationship with him dog, but also his own life will change forever.
The film opens in cinemas on December 5th.
