Eschborn. The little dog is motionless in the back seat, he no longer breathes, he is dead. He died of a heat stroke – because he was left behind by his person irresponsible and negligent in the hot car. Unfortunately, this is not a fictional example. This summer, two four -legged friends have already died painfully from the consequences of the overheating. Another 44 dogs and a kittens were lucky. They could be saved from the oven on four wheels because attentive passers -by had informed the fire brigade or police. So that animals do not have to suffer or die in the coming days and weeks, Tasso EV repeatedly appeals to dog owners: Do not leave your dog in the hot car!
Every year, the animal welfare organization, which operates Europe's largest free pet register, counts the “dog in the oven” case, about which the press was reported. “The list of dogs that had to be freed from hot cars this summer is long. And every single warm day there are further reports and suffering animals. Already a few minutes from 20 degrees Celsius outside temperature, it can be enough to transform the car into a fatal heat trap. And neither shadows nor a fleet opened window offer protection. The vehicle inside can quickly heat up to more than 50 degrees Celsius. “As long as people expose their animals to this danger out of ignorance or thoughtlessness, intensive educational work is necessary,” emphasizes McCreight.
Dog in need? Tasso gives legal tips
The temperatures will rise again in the coming days. If you discover a four -legged friend in the parked car and recognize an acute danger to the animal, you should become active and provide help. In the first step, it does not succeed in finding the owner of the vehicle if the police or fire brigade should be informed immediately. It is advisable to write down all the important data such as the date, place, time, time, car brand, color and license plate of the car and to document the incident by photo or video. It is also possible to file a criminal complaint for cruelty to animals.
If the dog's condition deteriorates rapidly, it becomes apathetic, starts to vomit or even loses consciousness – and the police or fire brigade have not yet arrived – it may be necessary to free the animal from the foreign car itself. It should first be checked whether a car door is unlocked. If it is essential to damage foreign property, the damage should be kept as low as possible. If the vehicle owners then file a criminal complaint for property damage, the animal rescuers can rely on an justifying emergency. However, it is all the more important to write down all the important data and look for witnesses.
