Mainz (ots). On Sunday, January 19th, around 4 p.m., two very attentive citizens were able to spot a live dog lying parallel to Wormser Straße in Mainz, right next to the track bed. At this point, the train tracks are secured against unauthorized access by a fence facing the street and a wall facing the adjacent bicycle path. However, the dog found its way there and lay in a hollow, barely visible from the outside.
As if petrified, he didn't allow himself to be influenced by trains or people that were barely passing by and observed his surroundings. Thanks to the cooperation of the state and federal police and the fire department, train traffic was briefly interrupted and the dog was rescued. As it turned out, the dog is currently in a foster home and ran away two weeks ago. The Mainz police are keeping their fingers crossed that he will soon find a “forever family” and quickly recover from the hardships.
Great praise goes to the two reporters who discovered the animal on the bus and drove back to notify the police. Dear fellow human beings, stay alert and be aware of your environment and fellow human beings.
