For associations, quickly finding a family ready to temporarily welcome an animal can be a real obstacle course. It is precisely to facilitate these meetings that Kiweeto launches its application on 1er September 2026. Already accessible to host families for a few days, it will soon allow associations throughout the France to more easily find volunteers ready to open their doors.
An app to find the right host family
The principle of the application is simple: to help associations find the host family that best meets the needs of each animal (dogs, cats, NAC, farm animals, horses or even guide dogs).
For that, Kiweeto crosses different criteria, such as housing, the presence of children or other animals, availability and the family's lifestyle. Enough to facilitate research and avoid investments that would not be suitable.
Host families can already create their profile since August 9. From 1er September, animal protection associations and training centers for guide and assistance dogs will in turn be able to join the platform.
Please note that this automated connection service is free for host families. Associations, for their part, benefit from 3 free connections per month, then can opt for unlimited connections by subscribing to Kiweetofor €60 per year or €8 per month.
A tool born from field experience
This new stage builds on 2 first years rich in lessons. Since September 2024, Kiweeto works to manually bring together voluntary associations and host families. Long-term work which has borne fruit since the association has formed a network of more than 2,000 host families and 100 partner associations across the France. Nearly 150 animals were able to temporarily leave their box to join a home, and 65 of them ultimately found their permanent family through adoption.
A great success, but also an experience which quickly showed its limits: as requests increased, it became difficult to continue to manage each search one by one. It is precisely from this observation that the new web application was born.
Thanks to the families and associations she supported, Kiweeto was able to better understand the criteria to take into account for a placement to go as smoothly as possible: lifestyle, availability, environment, needs of the animal… So much information which now makes it possible to facilitate research and offer more relevant connections. With this tool, the association hopes to save structures valuable time. As explained Manon Stubbepresident and co-founder of Kiweetothe objective is to “ give associations an autonomous, fast and reliable tool, available anywhere in France, at any time “.
It is also about giving more animals the chance to quickly find a temporary home where they will feel good. And above all, to allow them to leave their box as quickly as possible to finally discover the comfort of a real home, even for a few weeks.
