Moormerland – Animal Rescue – Dog News

Empty/Emden (ots). On the morning of March 6th around 8:50 a.m., the police received a rather unusual incident: a dog had slipped down an embankment on the Sauteler Canal on Gödeke-Michael-Straße and was no longer able to free itself on its own.

An elderly gentleman was taking a leisurely stroll by the water with his four-legged companion when the dog got dangerously close to the embankment. Due to a joint problem in its hind legs, the animal eventually lost its footing and slipped down the embankment. The four-legged friend lay there helpless and threatened to end up in the water in the worst case scenario.

The dog owner tried to get his companion back to safe ground, but quickly realized that nothing was possible without outside help. So the local police and fire department were alerted, and they joined forces to rescue the animal.

As soon as the four-legged friend had solid ground under his paws again and had recovered from the initial shock, the little miracle happened: the previously immobile dog got up – and suddenly started running again as if nothing had happened.

A happy animal ending – with a relieved owner and a dog who should probably keep a small safe distance from the embankment in the future.
