A dog owner from Mainz wanted to make her bitch returned. But the court declined: it could not be ruled out that the four -legged friend was abused again. The bitch currently lives with relatives – safe and far from possible dangers.
Court protects animal welfare
The Mainz Administrative Court made it clear that the bitch's well -being is above the owner's claim. Since the risk of repetition cannot be ruled out with the necessary safety, the animal remains in official care.
The trigger for the decision was a case of severe cruelty to animals that left questions open. So far, the exact background is unclear, the investigation is underway.
Discovered severe abuse
The Golden Retriever bitch had been brought to an veterinary clinic because she couldn't leave a urine. There, doctors made a shocking discovery: In the animal's vaginal tract, there was a seven -centimeter carrot that could only have been introduced by violence, according to the report.
The specialists certified considerable pain and suffering from the animal. After the foreign body was removed, the bitch also had to be treated for bladder infection. The veterinary office then intervened and confiscated the fur nose.
Unclear perpetrators
So far, who is responsible for the crime remains unclear. The dog owner has any guilt and explained that she suspected the abuse in her work environment. She works in a daycare center in which the trained therapy dog was regularly used.
However, the court pointed out that there is no evidence of this assumption. The investigation continues – the future of the bitch remains open until the final clarification.
The decision of the Mainz Administrative Court illustrates that if in doubt, the well -being of the animal has priority. For the Golden Retriever bitch, this means the separation from her owner, but at the same time protection against possible further abuse. Anyone who committed the cruel deed is still unclear.
