The return of a popular dog food currently causes a stir: Fressnapf calls two variants of wet feed “Select Gold Sensitive Adult Hirsch with Potatoes”. The recall affects products from the company's own brand, which operates more than 900 branches in Germany. The affected packaging units are available in sizes 200 grams and 800 grams.
Specifically, it is the following articles:
- Select gold sensitive wet feed adult deer with potatoes, 200 g can – article number 1002695006, best before 26.06.2027
- Select gold sensitive wet feed adult deer with potatoes, 800 g can – article number 1002697006, best before 01.07.2027
Fressnapf asks all customers not to feed these products to their dogs anymore. Customers can return the products and in any branch of the company. The purchase price is fully reimbursed.
The reason for the recall remains unclear for the time being. According to the notification of Fressnapf at product warning.eu, it is only a quality -related abnormality for a raw material used, which was found in the context of internal test processes. Fressnapf emphasizes that there are no risks for humans and animals. Fressnapf is currently not assuming that this deviation has an impact on the end product as a single feed.
For dog owners, this means that caution is advised, apparently there is no immediate risk.
