As the Bavarian Red Cross announced in the Berchtesgadener Land district association, the accident on Wednesday afternoon, August 27, happened on a steep section of the street Am Mitterberg. The cyclist was traveling around 1 p.m. when her brakes apparently overheated. As a result, she lost control, crashed into a road limitation and was thrown into an adjacent embankment. She suffered several broken bones.
The Ramsau mountain rescue guard quickly arrived at the scene of the accident and took over the first aid. The Austrian emergency helicopter “Christophorus 6” was requested to transport the woman as gently as possible. The injured was initially brought to the Bindalm by ambulance, where the helicopter could land. From there she was flown to the accident hospital in Salzburg.
