Kleinheubach. Green Petfood has been developing sustainable pet food with meat-reduced or completely meat-free recipes for over ten years. The ERBACHER the food family company relies on high-quality insect proteins as an alternative to conventional protein sources with, among other things, the complete feed 'InsectDog'. These are not only better for the environment, but also help with allergies and intolerances. Now the popular InsectDog line is getting reinforcements – with two new varieties 'InsectDog Balance' and 'InsectDog High Protein'. Green Petfood thus offers a new sustainable solution for everyone who does not want to give up meat completely.
The two new varieties are ideal for anyone who values the meat taste of their dog food, but still wants a sustainable food concept. “We want to make it easier for dog owners who value a green lifestyle to enter the world of alternative protein sources. We particularly want to appeal to those who may still be skeptical about whether insect proteins are suitable for their four-legged friend,” says Rafael Rybandt, Brand Lead at Green Petfood, explaining the expansion of the range.

Protects the environment and sensitive furry friends: insect protein
The production of insect feed is far more environmentally friendly compared to the production of traditional meat feed. The insects are bred on small farms in Europe and fed with leftover food. But the production also has lower emissions of greenhouse gases compared to conventional meat feed, requires less water and land and minimizes soil pollution. And that's not all: the breeding ground on which the insect larvae grow can subsequently be reused as fertilizer, which further underlines the sustainability aspect.
Insect protein is also a high-quality and easily digestible protein source for dogs. It offers valuable fatty acids to support the animals' skin and coat as well as a wealth of minerals and vitamins. It is also a comparatively rare source of protein, making it ideal for allergic animals.
The new Green Petfood complete foods are available in participating retailers and in the Green Petfood online shop.
