Taking our 4-legged companions to the veterinarian is not always an easy task… The owners of Wallace can attest to this! Lately, their Golden Retriever was obviously not very enthusiastic about going to his medical examination. Determined to escape, he simply refused to take the slightest step towards the car. But that was without counting on the ingenuity of his masters…
A sleigh ride
That day, Wallace obviously had no desire to go to the vet. When it was time to leave the house, the dog simply refused to move forward. Faced with his stubbornness, his owners had to find a solution to lead him to the car. As shown in the fun video Instagram who immortalized their stratagem, they then released… a green sled!
Comfortably installed inside, Wallace was thus pulled by his master, while his mistress walked alongside him to watch over him. The journey was done carefully, with several breaks to readjust the sled.
After convincing his humans that he was incapable of walking to the car, the smart guy was treated to a sleigh ride! A rather improbable scene for a simple visit to the veterinarian!
A miracle at the vet…
Rest assured, Wallace is doing well: he even miraculously regained the use of his paws in the vet's waiting room. “ Surprise ! I walked to the vet without any problems. “, humorously indicates the caption of the video.
The doggie's family named this adventure ” Sleigh ride in September », a nickname which greatly amused Internet users. Some got caught up in the game, imagining Wallace throw them a “ Forward, slaves! ”, while another imagined him simply thinking: “ Hey, it’s fun! Let's continue! »

With more than 40,900 “ I like », this video relayed by DogTime met with great success. It must be said that the scene is comical: while its masters redoubled their efforts to transport Wallace safely, he finally started walking again naturally at the vet.
However, it is impossible to know, from these images alone, why Wallace refused to walk: pain, apprehension, fatigue or simple reluctance? One thing is certain, his change in behavior makes this funny story even more fun!

Woopets info – My dog no longer wants to walk: when should you worry?
As in the case of Wallaceoccasional refusal to walk is not necessarily cause for concern. On the other hand, when a dog suddenly stops walking or the problem persists, it is better not to trivialize the situation. Pain or a health problem may be the cause of this change in behavior.
- Be alert for lameness or difficulty placing a paw;
- Watch for other changes in behavior (unusual fatigue, whining, restlessness, or loss of appetite);
- Observe if he seems to be in pain when he gets up, moves around or is touched;
- Don't insist on exercise if he seems in pain or particularly tired;
- Consult a veterinarian if the refusal is sudden, persistent, repeats or is accompanied by other unusual signs.
When in doubt, it is better to seek advice from a professional rather than systematically considering refusal to walk as a simple whim.
