Crossed American Bully, Sharon was languishing in an overcrowded county shelter. The team of Wags And Walksassociation based in Los Angeles (California) and Nashville (Tennessee), had noticed her and decided to help her.

The volunteers immediately noticed his deformed legs. They learned that she had been discovered wandering, but her life was clearly even more difficult before that. The signs observed on her body suggested that she had been forced to have more than one litter of puppies. She had probably undergone several cesarean sections.
The condition of his legs prevented him from walking properly. In fact, every step was torture for her.

At the shelter, she was particularly reserved, not knowing who she could trust. However, once she was taken out of this intimidating and stressful environment, she began to reveal her true personality; sociable, mischievous and sweet.
Sharon can finally run and enjoy her new life
The deformation of its legs was probably the consequence of poor living conditions that it experienced in breeding. The team of Wags And Walks used x-rays to assess their condition, then began treating her.

In a few weeks, Sharon has made resounding progress. She, who had so much difficulty walking, started running again in her host family's garden. For the first time in her life, she could run around happily without feeling the slightest pain.

As happiness never comes alone, we found her a loving family, who was looking for a sweet and calm dog. She is now happy and spoiled by her adopters.

Woopets advice: what should I do if my dog seems to have difficulty walking?
An abnormal gait, lameness or difficulty moving may be a sign of pain or a musculoskeletal problem that requires veterinary attention.
- Do not wait for the problem to worsen: if the discomfort persists, make an appointment with a veterinarian.
- Limit efforts while waiting for the diagnosis: avoid running, jumping and going up/down stairs.
- Never give human painkillers without a veterinary prescription: certain medications intended for us can be toxic to dogs.
The veterinarian will be able to determine the origin of the discomfort through a clinical examination and, if necessary, imaging examinations.
