With a muzzle in the cable car?
Cologne. Many dog owners want to take their four -legged friend on vacation. But before it starts, you should find out about the most important regulations for dog owners in the holiday country. Because there are often other rules and laws than here in Germany.
In popular travel countries such as Italy, France and Spain, there are special regulations that dog owners should consider. In Italy there is, for example, a general linen compulsion. In addition, a muzzle requirement for dogs applies in public transport – this also applies, for example, in the cable cars of the Italian Alps. A muzzle is also mandatory in many restaurants and cafés. There is a security obligation in your own car. The beloved four -legged friend runs best in a transport box. If you don't stick to it, you risk sensitive fines. If it goes to the sea, you have to note that dogs are only allowed on certain beach sections.
“To avoid disappointments, it is best to inquire before booking,” said Tram Fafenrot, expert in liability insurance at AXA.
Vacation with the dog:
So the journey for humans and animals becomes a relaxed experience
Dog owners abroad need certain documents for entry with the dog. As a rule, this includes an EU petrol card, proof of the valid rabies vaccination as well as identification by a microchip or tattoo. It is advisable to find out about the exact requirements of the respective country, for example, on the Internet before the trip, as these can deviate from our regulations. In addition to the rabies vaccination, further vaccinations can be useful depending on the travel destination. A visit to the vet before the trip can help to organize all the necessary vaccinations in good time and to optimally protect the fur nose.
The animal owner liability insurance also protects abroad
An animal owner liability insurance is mandatory for us in 15 out of 16 federal states, at least for certain dog breeds. There is currently no compulsory insurance in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The animal owner liability insurance is always advisable. Because if a dog causes damage, for example because he bites someone or runs on the street and causes an accident, the owners are liable. The animal owner liability insurance is also regulation in other European countries.
“Tier owner liability insurance applies worldwide, so you are not only at home, but also well protected abroad,” said Tram Fafenrot, expert in liability insurance at AXA. “So nothing stands in the way of a relaxed vacation.”
