When dogs bark too much

Leverkusen. Hardly anything makes dog owners sweat like a barking dog. And that for good reason: Barking is loud, it is little accepted by society and it is not uncommon for trouble in the neighborhood. No wonder that many people want to turn off their dogs bark quickly and safely. The problem: Barking is part of the natural expression behavior of dogs and it is communication.

Suppressing this leads to further problems and, strictly speaking, is even contrary to animal welfare. Because Paragraph 1 of the Animal Welfare Act already determines, “Those who hold an animal, look after or look after, must properly feed, maintain and accommodate its kind and needs accordingly.”

The OLG Hamm has issued various judgments on the subject of dog barking, with the result that the dog is not allowed to bark outdoors for a maximum of ten minutes at a time and up to 30 minutes and in the rest periods (OLG Hamm, judgment of November 16, 1989, Az.: 22 U 249/89), (OLG Hamm, judgment of April 11, 1988, Az.: 22 U 265/87). Fortunately, most dishes judge milder, torn between the need for rest and the need for dog keeping.

But one thing is clear: very few people want to find themselves with their neighbors in court – so it often makes more sense to agree with amicable – and to reduce bark to a socially compatible level.

Why bark dogs
Most Beller make dog owners aware of a lack of well -being and articulate a need. Bark dogs to communicate. And that's exactly why they bark more than wolves. It is part of evolution and domestication to articulate your needs, it is seen as one of the consequences of living together with humans.

Barking is more energy -saving than howling, but it is also less than heard. Wolves rarely bark and usually address their barks at neighboring animals, it is part of their threatening behavior.

As a consequence, dogs have developed a variety of Belllauts in living with us humans that can convey information about well -being, needs and moods. In many dog breeds, the bark was even selected as a type of information.

However, this does not mean that we are helplessly delivered to the bark or that we always have to accept it at any time. If you take the trouble to take a closer look at the dog bark and to perceive the needs behind you, you can train other strategies for communication with the dog.

Like barking dogs
When barking, not only the pitch counts, but also the rhythm and the direction of view. High tones are more exhausted out of fear or fear. Deep tones are an indication of the need for. Medium pitches and very even sounds speak for frustration or conflicts, i.e. conflicting emotions. If a dog looks at another individual when barking, it can assume that barking is also directed to it.

While the dog who looks into the void while barking is often in conflict. Another hint is if a little white is also visible in the eye of the dog.

With these bell shapes, not only training on the actual causes is important, but it also makes sense to train relaxing rituals and signals for difficult moments to support the dog.

Barking relaxed
Bellen itself can contain a rewarding effect: heavy exhaling. If the dog turns over the barking air and leaves steam, this can become its standard pressure valve. Relaxation training relies on other valves and ensures that we can turn on and steer the dog.

It is not about forbidding the dog and increasing the pressure so that he no longer dares to express his needs, but rather to make other ways more tasty to the dog and at the same time to eliminate the reinforcement as far as possible.

Conclusion
Every bark has a reason – if we are bothering us, we should search for the causes. Of course, there are races that are considered to be bright, but there are specific reasons for every bark that arise from the situation and the emotional location of the dog.

Not every bark can be equated with misery and lack of well -being, sometimes dogs just share something with us. Then the voices are softer and the tones are more melodic.

The latter is generally not only less unpleasant by us humans; It can usually also be interrupted by a short conversation and pleasant social interaction without the need of the dog being neglected.

People with barking dogs do a favor if they also link barking and ending the barking with a signal in addition to relaxation training. So you can not only simply tell the dog that Bellen is now okay, but also stop it without pressure if it barks in unfavorable moments. These are nothing more than funny tricks that can be practiced in small employment units and can be used sensibly in everyday situations.
