Winter Apple Sweet Potato Treats
A snack that is not only delicious, but also supports the dog's well-being in the cold season. Sweet potatoes provide energy and are rich in vitamin C and beta-carotene, apples provide natural antioxidants and fiber, and oatmeal is gentle on the stomach and filling.
Ingredients
- 1 small sweet potato
- 1 apple (mild, e.g. Gala or Boskop)
- 1 egg
- 2 to 3 tablespoons oat flakes or oat flour
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
- A little water if the dough is too dry.

- Boil sweet potato
Peel, cut into pieces and cook until soft. Then puree. - Prepare apple
Remove the core and grate the apple finely. The shell can stay on. - Make dough

- 200 to 250 g oat flakes or oat flour

- A dash of lukewarm water if the dough is too stiff.

– 1 teaspoon dried rosemary (finely crumbled)
– 1 tbsp water or a little more if necessary
– 1 tsp coconut oil (optional)

Preheat oven, to 160 °C circulating air.
2. Make dough
Mix oat flour, egg, pumpkin puree, parsley and rosemary in a bowl.
If you are using coconut oil, add it now. Knead with a little water to form a firm, easily shapeable dough.
3. Roll out and shape
Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm thick.
Cut out cookies using small cookie cutters (e.g. bones, stars, hearts). Alternatively, simply tear off small pieces and press them flat.
4. Baking
Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until slightly crispy.
5. Let dry
For extra crispiness, let the cookies dry for another 10 minutes in the switched off oven.
