We told you about Mr. Pickles in a previous article. On May 7, 2026, this English Cocker Spaniel was discovered by sheriff's deputies in Chatham County, North Carolina (United States), with 2 other dogs in the home of its deceased owner. The quadruped was locked in a cupboard.
Mr. Pickles was then in a disastrous state, the result of a long period of neglect. Entrusted to the local association Longleaf Animal Rescuehe had been transported to the veterinary clinic ER For Petshas Chapel Hill.
The healthcare team had to anesthetize him to examine him, remove an ear tumor and perform several biopsies. It also took her 5 hours to rid him of 5 kilograms of dirty and tangled hair, which even hid an old veterinary collar.
The joy of reunion
The dog had been transformed by this intensive grooming session, then by the care and love received from the volunteers of Longleaf Animal Rescue.
A little over 2 months later, he is doing much better and was able to meet his rescuers: Chatham County Sheriff's deputies and the veterinary team.
