Sometimes rescues aren't what you imagine. It is not always enough to open a door to help an animal in distress: certain situations require special means and a real mobilization of help. This is precisely what happened at Perpignanin the Pyrenees-Orientales (66), where several teams had to join forces to get a dog out of a worrying situation.
An extraordinary rescue
As reported by Free Middayit indeed took an unusual intervention to help this little dog. The 1er last August, around 8:30 p.m., the firefighters and the departmental dog brigade of Perpignan were called to rescue a young woman American Staffordshire left alone on the balcony of an apartment located at 4e floor.
Using a basket, emergency services were able to reach the animal, tied outside and unable to return to the home. According to the national police, the dog was then moving in “ a small space soiled by its droppings “.
A dog handler finally managed to recover her before she was taken to the ground and then taken to the pound, where she was to receive the necessary care. A delicate operation which allowed this little survivor to finally escape from this hell.
An open investigation
After the furball was rescued, an investigation was opened to shed light on the circumstances of its abandonment. At the time of the intervention, the owner was not present in the apartment and, according to the police, she was “ absent for several days “. The police thus indicated that it “ will be summoned by (their) services and will have to answer for their actions before the judicial authority “.
For their part, the emergency services welcomed the mobilization of the teams involved, which allowed this dog to escape from this worrying situation and to be taken care of. She is now in good hands.
