Dozens of animals, including around thirty dogs, were saved from neglect after their discovery in an unsanitary shelter in Tennessee (United States), reported FOX 17.
The organization Cane-9 Rescue & Sanctuary had been of interest to the authorities for some time. The investigation initially concerned one of the two sites belonging to the association, located in the state of Georgia and on which there were suspicions of mistreatment and fraud.
Investigations then turned to the other property, in Cheatham County (Tennessee). This is where the operation “ Money Trail » was conducted on August 11, 2026 by the association Animal Rescue Corpsat the request of the local sheriff's office.
Arriving on the scene, responders were shocked by the conditions in which the animals were kept, even though they were supposed to be protected and cared for.
37 dogs, including 6 females who were nursing their puppies, 7 chickens, 2 turkeys and a pig were discovered on site and evacuated.
They were kept either outside, in enclosures filled with droppings, bones and rubbish, or inside, where there was also a lack of hygiene and security.
One of the turkeys was in such suffering that a veterinarian recommended euthanasia.

The rescued dogs were taken care of by Animal Rescue Corpswhere they receive all the care and attention they need. As for farm animals, they were entrusted to the Piccolo Farms Animal Sanctuarybased in Whites Creek in Tennessee.
