Ina, the dog hit in Ribérac: a suspected minor is summoned to the children's court

We recently told you the story of Ina, this little dog from Ribérac, in Dordogne, whose owner discovered on social networks that she had been kicked in a street in the town. The case is now being followed up in court: on Monday, November 2, 2026, the Périgueux public prosecutor's office announced that the minor suspected of having carried out this blow was summoned to appear before the children's court, reported ici.fr that same day.

The prosecution, which thus confirmed information from South Westclarified that this young man had no prior record.

It all started for this resident of Ribérac by the discovery of images filmed in a street in the city, where we saw Inahis Yorkshire Terrier dog, receiving a violent kick from a young man. The scene, filmed by a young girl, was then massively shared online, as we reported in this article.

The attack would have taken place 5 months before the reappearance of the images

These images were not new. According to the first elements collected by the investigators, the filming dates back at least 5 months; the footage re-emerged on Sunday October 18, spreading across the country and far beyond.

The alleged perpetrator of the attack on Ina

In the days following this broadcast, 2 complaints were filed and the mayor of Ribérac had for his part taken legal action. The owner ofIna for his part, filed a complaint after viewing the images.

Sons wrongly accused, families threatened

As the video circulated, several families were targeted in the Vosges as well as Outreau and to Lens : their sons were wrongly named as the author of the blow to the little dog.

In the Northa mother received 500 threatening calls and had to change her telephone number, while in Vosgesa second was also harassed. Another home even received a visit from armed people.

The alleged perpetrator will be tried by the children's court

The investigation then led, at the end of October, to the arrest of a young resident of Neuvic (Dordogne). The person concerned was placed in police custody, before the summons announced on November 2.

As for Inathe little dog retained no apparent mark from this blow, according to the information relayed. It will now be up to the children's court to decide on this matter.
