A center takes in this paralyzed dog and equips him with a cart so he can move and play

Hot Wheels, a 2-year-old Maltese cross, had lost the use of his hind legs due to intervertebral disc disease. As his owner was no longer able to care for him, the little dog was taken in by an animal center in North Carolina (United States), where he was examined, equipped with a trolley and then entrusted to a foster family.

Its name is that of small miniature cars that children love, and it is indeed on wheels that this Maltese Bichon cross now moves around. His moving story, relayed by WRALbegins with a painful renunciation: the state of health of Hot Wheels required care that its owner could no longer provide, and he had to part with it.

“He’s the happiest dog ever.”

The quadruped was then taken care of by the Chatham Sheriff's Animal Resource Center (BOW), an animal structure attached to the sheriff's office of this county in North Carolina. Katherine Reardonwho coordinates the program BOWdescribes it as follows: “ He's the happiest dog ever ”, adding that “shis tail wags constantly. »

A cart to move and play

The survivor was also examined at Pittsboro Animal Hospitalhas Pittsboro. The veterinarians there established a treatment plan, now scrupulously applied by the family who recently took him in.

The animal also received a suitable trolley, visible in the photos with its 2 wheels with purple uprights. This equipment, according to the coordinator of theBOW“ allows him to move and play much more like a normal dog “. She specifies: “ It gives him freedom and helps him enjoy life, although he must always be supervised when using it. »

An experienced family

Its hosts are familiar with dogs that need special care, an area in which they already have extensive experience. This placement was organized through the association Freedom Ride Rescue.

Hot Wheels will stay with them until he is deemed ready for adoption.
