Commentary on Taking a Dog to the Museum by David Gebauer

Dog in the Neanderthal Museum

In the Neanderthal Museum In Mettmann “DoggyDay” is celebrated on the first Friday of every month. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on these afternoons, visitors with their dogs on a leash can explore the permanent exhibition on four levels and walk in the footsteps of the Neanderthals.

The entry for the dog on Doggy Day costs 2 euros plus the entrance fee of 8 euros for the dog owner. The museum café is also open to dog owners and their four-legged friends on these days. The roof terrace offers a beautiful view of the green Neandertal.

By the way, on the homepage of the Neandertal Museum it says “ …dogs on a leash and their well-behaved owners…“We ask ourselves, to what extent does the owner have to be well behaved? 😉
