Toy poodle has to be in quarantineCustoms officers at Düsseldorf airport checked the man after he entered Istanbul. When questioned, he stated that the animals belonged to him. When the customs officers found Turkish and Russian documents about the animals during further baggage checks, they asked again. The traveler finally admitted that he was just the courier and that he had received 600 euros for the transport. Research showed that toy poodle puppies are traded between 1,500 and 3,500 euros and British longhair cat puppies between 700 and 1,500 euros.

Because the animals were not registered, the customs officers initiated criminal proceedings against the courier for attempted tax evasion.
