Mainz (ots). On Saturday, February 15, 10.40 a.m., the Mainz fire brigade was alerted for a traffic accident on the A60 in the direction of Bingen between the Lerchenberg and Finthen junctions. Due to unclear emergency reports, a serious traffic accident was assumed – however, there was a rather unusual cause on site: a young mixed breed puppy had caused excitement.
The driver of a car was 'Cosmo' with her three and a half month -old dog when the little four -legged friend suddenly felt uncomfortable and strongly vomited. Due to the distraction, the driver lost control of her vehicle, which then crashed into the guardrail. The car was damaged so much that it was no longer ready to drive. Fortunately, both the driver and 'Cosmo' remained unharmed. The Mainz fire brigade secured the scene of the accident and not only took care of the driver, but also the excited puppy. After a short break and a lot of attention, 'Cosmo' was quickly good again.
The Mainz fire brigade points out that pets in the vehicle should always be well secured in order to avoid distractions while driving. The little 'Cosmo' certainly did not expect his first major fire service – but after this adventure the next car ride should hopefully be more relaxed for him.
