A judgment was finally rendered following the trial of Lynda Cooperr, former winner of a prestigious dog competition accused of mistreating dozens of dogs who lived in her home, reported Metro.
She appeared at the Crown Court on June 19, 2026. Cardiffin Wales, and pleaded guilty to 11 offenses under animal welfare legislation as well as breeding dogs without a license.
If she escaped prison, having been sentenced to a 12-month suspended sentence, she will not have the right to keep animals for 10 years and will have to pay 10,000 pounds sterling (approximately 11,600 euros) in court costs.
Lynda Cooper74 years old, won 6 awards in the competition Crufts in 2016 with his Italian Shorthaired Pointer dog. However, what followed was much less glorious.
In 2024, local authorities and the Welsh association Hope Rescue had discovered 77 dogs, including around twenty puppies, kept in deplorable conditions at her home in Pontypool in the southeast of the country.
The canines lived in an unsanitary and dark environment. They were extremely thin and suffered from various illnesses: ear infections, dental problems, etc.

Initially, Lynda Cooper voluntarily surrendered 23 of these dogs. A subsequent intervention made it possible to rescue the 54 others.
