Dog news – Information + News for dog friends
Boppard. “I ended my training in the summer of 2023 in the Bad Kreuznach area. Since then, I have been able to officially (volunteer) to miss it, for example in old people's and nursing homes, daycare centers, schools, institutions for people with impairments and hospice.
I regularly go to further training, team checks and take part in information stands by our association 'Therapy dogs Lebenfreunde'-we give more than just pawns!
I currently regularly visit the 'Bethesda Foundation' module in Boppard. There I encounter people with physical, psychological and neurological impairments and attempts to respond individually to their current constitution. My accompanying person Christine Jakob (human dog team) and the supervisors of the module support me. You always stay in active exchange.
It is incredible how I can conjure up a little smile in the face of the people in the module through my mere presence. Even if they stroke me or give me delicacies' a rays go over their face. They hide my friends (cuddly toys) and I bring them back. Or treats are hidden in the 'sniffing carpet' or in the snail body. This is a motor challenge for some residents. Anxious behavior is also reversed in affection and joy. Sometimes I climb on the lap.
In addition, there are now two puzzles and a board game with pictures of me, as well as a memory with photos of the residents and me. So you also have points of contact with me without being on site and can practice your possible skills. I like to go there and look forward to the next assignment. “
