Mare lake (ots). After overnight rescue operation, a mixed breed dog was handed over to his owners safely on Saturday, March 1st. Previously, the fire brigade and the technical relief organization had to work together to save the dog from a four -meter -deep shaft. Around 9:30 p.m. they were able to free him from its predicament and hand over it to the dog owners. He was brought to an veterinary clinic for an examination.
The Stutensee volunteer fire brigade was currently extinguishing an extensive roofing fire in the Friedrichstal district than via the integrated control center of the alarm for animal rescue, also in Stutensee (Karlsruhe district, Baden Württemberg), entered. The operations management in Friedrichstal had prevented for this case. Vehicles and teams from Graben-Neudorf and Karlsdorf-Neuthard had also been requested for use in Friedrichstal. They also had the task of being available for follow -up operations in Stutensee. Fire brigade commander Gregor Peters then hurried to Blankenloch with two vehicles from Graben-Neudorf and Karldorf-Neuthard. Other vehicles were also ordered from Graben-Neudorf. “It quickly became clear that it would not be an easy task to free the dog from its situation at this depth,” said Gregor Peters about the task for the emergency services.
He then ordered specialists from the THW and the excavator of a local construction company to the site. “The common goal was to dig another shaft in the courtyard next to the laundry room in which the fountain shaft was located,” said Peters on the emergency of the rescue workers. Since the grave depth for the excavator used was limited, the suction excavator of a specialist company from Waghäusel was also consulted. “We have a animal rescue specialist group in our fire brigade. She also includes two veterinarians and both were used. They looked after the animal and stood by us with their professional advice on the procedure, ”said Peters. The fire brigade and THW then dug the shaft into the depth of the trapped animal. With formwork material of a construction company and the THW, the shaft on its outer walls was secured so that emergency services could then work safely at this depth. In addition, the outer wall of the adjacent laundry room could also be secured. At 4.50 meters depth, a horizontal connection to the tube of the fountain shaft was driven. A large pipe was introduced here to intercept retroving material.
In the meantime, the veterinarians provided the dog 'Loki', a 13 -year -old mixed breed male with oxygen. Warm air was blown into the fountain shaft with a blower. The animal was mostly in the cold fountain water. The helpers of the THW have driven an opening into the well tube with special devices and thus enabled access to the trapped dog. A veterinarian attached several lowered lines to the dog's body. This gently pulled up over the fountain shaft and thus saved safely.
The dog owners brought him to an veterinary clinic in a transport box provided. The fire brigade was under the direction of Gregor Peters with 33 women and men from Stutensee, Graben-Neudorf and Karlsdorf-Neuthard. The THW was deployed from the local groups of Dettenheim, Pforzheim and Karlsruhe with 17 helpers. Relatives of the DRK readiness Blankenloch and Spöck provided the emergency services in their nine-hour use with drinks and a snack. “I am pleased that we were able to achieve this hour -long commitment together,” said Gregor Peters at the final meeting. The emergency services were relieved after the animal's successful rescue and also after the very long commitment. “Our success is all the more remarkable because we worked it with forces from various fire brigades and units this morning,” Peters finally remarked for the special composition of the forces used. Mayor Petra Becker got a picture of the action and the rescue work on site. Officials from the Karlsruhe-Waldstadt police station secured the site.
