News dispute over a dog without a leash: man beats teacher

A teacher was traveling with a primary school class when she met a man with an unhappy dog. In view of the busy street and the children near her, the teacher asked the dog owner to take the animal on a leash or at least to hold on. Instead of responding to the request, the man reacted aggressively and hit the teacher against his shoulder. Despite the blow, the woman was still able to look after the children, while the dog owner removed from the group.

The teacher suffered minor injuries and the police have now initiated an investigation into assault.

She now asks witnesses to report on 0441-7904115.

Conflicts by disregarding the leash obligation

This incident illustrates the potential for conflicts that arises when dog owners disregard the leash obligation in public space. An unhanged dog can be perceived as threatening, especially in busy areas where children are also on the road. The incident shows how important consideration and a sense of responsibility are on both sides. A clear compliance with leash obligation and mutual consideration are necessary to avoid such situations in the future.
