Making your own dog gelis is a great way to do something good for the dog and at the same time keep control of the composition. To try it out a simple recipe for homemade dog biscuits:
Ingredients
- 250 g whole grain flour (e.g. spelled flour)
- 125 g oatmeal (Coarse or fine)
- 125 g vegetables (e.g. carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of oil (e.g. olive oil)
- Some water (If the dough is too dry)
preparation
- Finely grate or puree the vegetables.
- Mix the flour, oatmeal and the pureed vegetables in a bowl.
- Add the egg and oil and knead everything into a smooth dough.
- Add some water if necessary until the dough has the right consistency.
- Roll out the dough on a floured work surface and cut out cookies with cookie cutters.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- In the preheated oven at 180 ° C (Two-sided heat) Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes until they are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool completely before the dog can snack on.
Variations
- You can also add other ingredients to the dough, such as grated cheese, tuna or liver sausage.
