HAS Kansas Cityin the state of Kansas (United States), a dog who became frightened after fireworks found himself trapped at the bottom of an old, unsanitary well. Fortunately, his distress calls were heard by a good Samaritan who immediately informed the emergency services, which allowed him to return to the surface and be taken care of, reported KMBC.
On July 4, 2026, we celebrated 250 years of American independence. Like every year on this date, fireworks are set off in the evening. Which scares some dogs, especially the one in question here.
Panicked and disoriented, this obviously wandering canine probably did not notice the well in its uncontrolled flight and ended up falling into it. The unfortunate quadruped was now stuck 4.5 meters underground, in a mixture of sewage and oil.
Hours of waiting and anxiety began for him. Luckily, his desperate barking alerted a passerby who immediately called the emergency services. This urgent call triggered the intervention of the firefighters (Kansas City Kansas Fire Department) and local police (Kansas City Kansas Police Department).
Brisket discovers safety and comfort
Once safely brought to the surface, the dog was offered a tempting piece of brisket (smoked beef brisket) which he did not fail to savor. This is also what led his saviors to call him Brisket.
The firefighters then took him to the city animal service, where he was given a good bath to rid him of all the dirt. The survivor was also put on a drip, fed and rehydrated.
Subsequently, we provided him with a comfortable bed, and he fell sound asleep while taking advantage of the shelter's air conditioning.
