This Golden Retriever refuses to leave the house and his family learns a few hours later of the death of the grandmother (video)

Charlie's anxious and determined behavior found its justification a few hours later: when the death of this relative who meant a lot in his life was announced. His owner, who had left him with his mother for the day, has never seen her dog so stubborn. At first amused, she finally understood that Charlie had sensed the sequence of events.

Lauren Lieberman lives in Montreal (Canada), with its Golden Retriever, snow fan, explains Newsweek. She is used to leaving her dog with her parents, and usually when she comes to pick him up, everything goes very smoothly. This time, it was impossible to make the big dog listen to reason.

“He’s never acted like that before.”

Usually, explains Lauren : “He is always happy to go with me”. The video of the moment, which serves as proof, allows us to see that Charlie really hasn't decided to leave. In front of the doorHalithe mother of Laurenthe dog remains motionless. There have been numerous attempts to get him to leave again. Hali tried to lure the dog with treats, but none of it worked. Lauren tried to tell his mother to close the door, pulled on the leash, but Charlie still hadn't decided to leave.

“That’s why he was acting like that.”

A few hours after this atypical episode, Lauren learned some very sad news: the death of Gloriahis grandmother. According to her, Charlie felt this moment coming, his bond being very strong with the elderly lady. It is with great emotion that Lauren remembers the good times spent at her grandmother's house, remembering that her dog “ran straight to his door and waited for him”.

Lauren and his mother understood a posteriori the reason for the behavior of Charlie.
