How do dogs communicate when in danger?
In the event of imminent danger, the dog can signal a situation that it considers abnormal in 3 ways:
- He may emit short, repeated barks, often in a high pitched tone.
- It modifies its posture, bristles its fur, stiffens its tail, its ears flatten back and its pupils dilate.
- It emits pheromones detected by other animals, which also go into alert state.
