Raumbach. Christmas spirit, animal encounters and a lot of heart for a good cause: on the first Advent, little Raumbach is transformed (Bad Kreuznach district) in Rhineland-Palatinate for the fifth time in a very special meeting place for dogs and their people.
A Christmas market where dogs are not only tolerated, but are explicitly the focus? This is exactly what visitors can expect Sunday, November 29th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m at the fifth Wuffnachtsmarkt in Raumbach near Meisenheim.
The event combines the cozy atmosphere of a Christmas market with a concept that consciously addresses the needs of four-legged visitors. Because while classic Christmas markets with crowds, loud music and numerous stimuli can quickly become tiring for dogs, the Wuffnachtsmarkt wants to show that there is another way.
A Christmas market with four paws in mind
At the Wuffnachtsmarkt there is deliberately no continuous sound. Instead, the focus is on being as relaxed as possible and showing mutual consideration.
An important component is the so-called yellow ribbon. It signals to other visitors that a dog needs more distance. Whether due to insecurity, health reasons or because he simply doesn't want any contact: the yellow ribbon is intended to help respect the animals' individual boundaries.
In this way, the Wuffnachtsmarkt sets an example for responsible treatment of dogs – without foregoing the joy of strolling through the Christmas market together.
Christmas shopping, dog dancing, dog racing and more
The program is also impressive. Numerous exhibitors present gift ideas, handmade products and all sorts of special features for dogs and their people. Your physical well-being is also taken care of – also vegan.

The supporting program includes, among other things, dog dancing, demonstrations by rescue dogs and a lecture on aromatherapy. The dog races will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the awards ceremony scheduled for 1:30 p.m. No registration is required – come and have fun. Of course, each dog runs individually and in accordance with animal welfare regulations. The focus is not just on the fastest time, but above all on the joy of the shared experience.
There is a larger passion project behind the Christmas market
The Wuffnachtsmarkt is organized by the non-profit Therapiehof Weiherwiese e.V. The association is currently building a place in Raumbach where rescued animals can find a permanent home and at the same time people in difficult life situations can receive support through animal-assisted offers.
The project combines two important concerns: the protection of animals and the positive impact that encounters between humans and animals can have.
However, those responsible still have a lot of work to do before the therapy yard is fully constructed. Buildings must be renovated, stables prepared and safe accommodation for the animals created.
A lot of this comes from personal effort, volunteer work and the support of people who believe in the idea.
The Wuffnachtsmarkt therefore not only offers a special pre-Christmas excursion, but also draws attention to a charitable project that is intended to benefit animals and people in the long term.
A trip that brings joy and does good
What makes the Wuffnachtsmarkt special is the combination of Christmas atmosphere, animal-friendly event concept and social commitment.
Whether browsing through the stalls or taking a leisurely stroll with your four-legged friend, the aim is to create a Christmas market experience that also takes dogs into account.
On November 29th, Raumbach will open its doors again to everyone who loves Christmas, has dogs in their hearts and would like to support a charitable project with their visit.
