When she was rescued, Polly's coat was so matted that a simple cut was not enough… Found alone on an abandoned site, with no one to watch over her, the little dog was carrying hundreds of ticks under her knotted hair. His touching story, filmed by the account @wearehappydoggo, was relayed by DogTime.
Founded by Niall Harbison, Happy Doggo is an association that works every day to improve the lives of stray dogs, particularly by Thailand. Between meals, veterinary care and sterilization campaigns, the association multiplies the actions that save and give hope to these often forgotten balls of fur. Among them, the little Polly whose story was recently shared on social media.
Ticks, knots and a lot of patience
The video of her rescue opens with a volunteer approaching her without abruptness. He took her to safety, then drove her to the rescue center. Once the little dog arrived at the center, the volunteers got to work. They started by removing the ticks, before carefully shaving off the knots that covered his body. No one rushed, and Polly remained lying down, motionless, during the treatment.
To gauge the scale of the work, one of the volunteers held up a recently removed tuft of felted hair in front of the camera. Under the video, an Internet user also recalled that a matted coat at this point constantly pulls on the dog's skin and ends up irritating it.
A warm bath to turn the page
Freed from most of its knots, the furball was finally entitled to a real bath. With her muzzle turned towards the volunteer who was delicately cleaning her head, she enjoyed lukewarm water in a bathtub. At this point, most of his old fleece was gone.

Coming out of the water, a volunteer dried her with a towel, and Polly already seemed more at ease.
A new beginning in the center courtyard
The last images of the video show her in the courtyard of the center, looking visibly more lively, in the company of the people who take care of her. A comforting message then appears on the screen: “ You're safe now, Polly. »

In the legend, the team of @wearehappydoggo confided that she found it heartbreaking to imagine how long she could have remained forgotten before reaching this point.

His new friends are not worried: his hair will grow back. Until then, Polly found a warm place to rest, surrounded by guardian angels attentive to her care. That's all that matters!
